Laparoscopic diverticular disease and major abdominal surgery reviews

  • Mr Sharma is a lovely doctor! He is very professional in his manner. He explains clearly about what is happening. He always asks if I have any questions and takes the time to listen to me. He appears to give you the personal touch, I remember after surgery whilst in hospital he would pass by to say hello and ask how I was doing. I feel that I can trust what he is saying.
  • I was admitted to hospital on Wednesday 8th February and diagnosed with Perforated sigmoid diverticula. Following excellent care and attention by the consultant MR.A.SHARMA who carried out my operation on Sunday 12th February. I was discharged on Wednesday 22nd February. I attended a follow up post op. consultation with MR. SHARMA.on Tuesday 11th April. I found Mr. SHARMA to be absolutely charming, efficient, reassuring, and more importantly an excellent surgeon. In conclusion l believe I have been most fortunate in being treated by this excellent consultant.
  • Overall the care was excellent, what we appreciated most was the personal attention of Mr Sharma. Prior to any surgery or investigation he would attend personally, and answer any questions or concerns, then afterwards personally attend again, which was very considerate and assuring. You can imagine our relief, when he said all was ‘ perfectly clear ‘ and no need to attend further surgeries.
  • Over the past 15 months I have had two operations performed by Dr.Sharma’s team. Today I went to be ‘signed off’. Each time I have met Mr.Sharma he has been friendly, kind, & informative, answering all my questions carefully but simply. He visited me several times in hospital and was concerned for my recovery, always keeping relatives up to date. Although both operations were potentially serious I was never afraid – my trust in Mr.Sharma was absolute. Thanks are not enough.
  • the Care provided by Dr Sharma and his team to my mother was outstanding from start to finish. my mother was extremely nervous about the operation and Dr Sharma was extremely reassuring and kind.
  • I was a patient of Mr. Sharma , having been referred by my G.P. after an emergency operation at my local hospital was a disaster. On seeing Mr. Sharma at his Out Patient Clinic I was immediately put at ease as he explained the course of action he planned to take in about 12 months time. After seeing him at subsequent appointments, I was admitted in February this year. The operation was a total success, given the complications, it was astounding. Mr Sharma came every day to see me, even on Sunday morning in his running togs! I could not praise him highly enough, especially when he discharged me today at clinic with further information and advice, and told me to ring his secretary should any problem arise. He is a thoroughly decent human being, and a credit to his profession.
  • Quick Fast diagnosis, flexible to accommodate dates for operation , some slight issue with a stitch in a wound that didn’t heal , but again subsequent treatment applied during a consultation avoided need for further surgery fully 100% and would recommend the procedure if needed and Dr Sharma to anyone

Mr Sharma showed empathy & compassion from the outset, I was most anxious at our first meeting & he defused my anxiety by being caring & communicating in a sensitive manner. His leadership radiates among his team too, whom demonstrated respect & fondness for him. It wasn’t easy to be told I had bowel cancer Mr Sharma gave me this diagnosis in a caring way – just right for me & my hubby. He then performed my surgery – he was marvelous & due to his skills & leadership I have healed very well. I can’t thank him enough & we told him but he was so humble & kind even with our feedback. The NHS should be proud that Mr Sharma is doing such an amazing job day in day out. I would recommend him to anyone having bowel surgery. This is my 2nd diagnosis of cancer in 10 years & Mr Sharma with his team were excellent in every aspect. Thank you so so much!
